Why Keith Dream Exists
I didn't start this business because I loved building websites. I started it because I kept watching business owners get burned.
Clients would come to me frustrated. Their sites had been hacked. Plugins hadn't been updated in years. Their developer had moved on and left no one minding the store. The website that was supposed to represent their business to the world had become a liability.
I know that frustration firsthand. I spent over 20 years in Japan running my own school and teaching English, doing meaningful work while simultaneously managing the tech, the admin, and the business side. It's a lot. And an unreliable website makes it harder.
So I built Keith Dream around one belief: your website and tech should be the least of your worries. Not because I'll do it cheaply and fast. Because I'll do it right, maintain it properly, and be honest with you every step of the way.
How I Work (And What I Won't Do)
I'll be direct with you about my approach, because I think you deserve to know before you reach out.
I won't build without a strategy.
Many agencies oversell. Many low-cost designers deliver something that looks acceptable but adds no real business value. I won't touch a design until I understand your business, your clients, your goals, and what success actually means for you. That's the only way to build something that earns its place on your domain.
I'll tell you straight out if you're asking for the wrong things.
If your vision isn't aligned with your goals, your timeline, or your budget, I'll say so. Sometimes that means breaking a project into smaller phases. That's not a limitation, it's the honest path to a better result.
I don't do everything, by design.
I don't build large eCommerce sites. They require specialized skills, high maintenance, and strong budgets, and they deserve a team that focuses on them exclusively. I also don't offer advertising services or deep-niche SEO campaigns. Those require specialists who understand a specific industry in depth. I'd rather refer you to the right expert than take on work outside my lane.
What I do offer is strong foundational SEO, and I include it in every new website build.
I always recommend a care plan at launch.
Your website is a living business asset. It represents you to the world every hour of every day. The moment it goes live, it needs to be maintained, secured, and updated. I've seen too many solid sites go sideways because no one was watching. That won't happen to yours.
The Person Behind the Work
My name is Keith J. Eldridge. I'm the founder and sole operator of Keith Dream, based in Hiroshima, Japan.
My background is a bit different from a typical web designer. I spent over 20 years teaching English and running my own language school in Japan, which means I understand the daily reality of doing meaningful work while simultaneously running the business. I also worked in enterprise tech as a manager and engineer, and served four years as an engineer in the US Air Force. Those experiences gave me a deep appreciation for systems that work, for troubleshooting under pressure, and for clear communication without jargon.
Outside of web design, I'm a healing artist with over 150 original works combining visual art, composed music, and meaningful messages. And I'm a multi-time medalist at the All Japan Taijiquan Championships, a practice that shapes how I approach everything I do.
Taijiquan teaches balance, flow, and intentionality. You don't force outcomes. You understand the conditions, work with what's there, and let the right result emerge. I bring that same principle to every project: understand the situation fully before recommending a path forward.
