Is ThriveCart the Best Cart and Funnel Platform for Your Business?

A woman sitting on a huge computer screen, sifting through a sales funnel full of products and settings.

Introduction

When it comes to running your business online, choosing the right cart and funnel platform can make all the difference. There are many options available in the market, and each platform comes with its own set of features and benefits.

Setting up an online store is not quite as simple as it sounds. You need a platform that allows you to accept payments, create a sales funnel, and track your results.

Enter ThriveCart – a comprehensive cart platform designed to maximize your conversions and increase profits. Boasting high-converting cart pages, funnels, affiliate campaigns, courses, and more, ThriveCart aims to be the best cart and funnel platform on the market.

In this ThriveCart review, we’ll explore how this platform can help you increase your revenue, improve your sales funnel, and grow your business.

What is ThriveCart?

ThriveCart is a powerful cart and sales funnel solution that allows businesses to create, launch and manage their sales funnels with a powerful suite of tools built in. This includes creating product pages, setting up discounts and coupons, tracking affiliate commissions (Pro), and creating customer accounts. It even has its own built-in Learning Management System (LMS) called “Learn”, so you can offer your own online courses.

ThriveCart also offers integrated services from marketing tools, such as Zapier and AWeber, allowing you to sync your data and automate processes. It also offers powerful analytics tools for tracking and analyzing customers’ behaviors and preferences, so you can make the best decisions for your business.

Is ThriveCart the best choice for your online business?

ThriveCart has a lot of advantages over other cart and funnel platforms. Here are some of the most compelling reasons why ThriveCart could be the best choice for your business:

  1. Low cost – With ThriveCart, you can get started with a special Lifetime offer of only $495. The lifetime offer will eventually go away and become $95+ monthly. You have the option of upgrading to the Pro plan on checkout for an additional $195, but you don’t have to invest in it if you are just starting out.
  2. No transaction fees – Unlike other cart and funnel platforms, ThriveCart does not charge any transaction fees so you keep the revenue from your sales. For payments, you can integrate with Stripe, PayPal and Authorize.net (your payment processor may charge standard fees).
  3. Easy to use – ThriveCart is easy to set up and use, even for those with no technical knowledge. You will be able to create and launch carts and funnel pages on your own. If you run into questions, support is always ready to help.
  4. Third-party integrations – ThriveCart works with third-party apps, including Zapier, making it easier for you to sync your data and automate processes as your customers flow through your funnels.
  5. Comprehensive analytics – ThriveCart provides comprehensive analytics and reporting tools to track customer behaviors and preferences. This will help you make sound data-driven decisions for your business.

By choosing ThriveCart, you can manage your entire funnel system with ease and keep more of your revenue. Its low cost, ease of implementation, and comprehensive analytics make it one of the most attractive shopping cart solutions for any business.

4. The features that make ThriveCart the best cart platform

ThriveCart offers a comprehensive suite of features designed to help you increase your conversions and grow your business. Here are just a few of the features that ThriveCart offers:

Create High-Converting Cart Pages using the funnel and checkout page builder

ThriveCart’s drag-and-drop editor makes it easy to create high-converting cart pages that are designed to increase conversions. Whether you want to create one-page, embeddable, or popup carts, ThriveCart has got you covered.

Create unlimited physical products or services

ThriveCart allows you to create an unlimited number of physical products or services, making it easy to sell any type of product or service you want. You can add descriptions, images, and prices for each product, and manage your inventory with ease. This feature gives you the flexibility to sell anything you want without limitations.

One-click bump offer

With the one-click bump offer feature, you can offer additional products or services to your customers with just one click. This feature increases your revenue by encouraging customers to purchase more products or services right at checkout. Customers appreciate the convenience of adding extra items to their purchase (often at a discounted price) without having to navigate to another page.

A screenshot from a ThriveCart checkout page with a bump order. A red arrow points the checkbox that allows a customer to add an extra item to their purchase quickly and often at at discount.

You can set the Bump offer as “selected” by default and it will be automatically added to the order, or you set it as “not selected” and the customer will need to check the box or toggle it “on” to add it to their purchase.

One-click upsells and downsells

ThriveCart’s one-click upsell feature allows you to offer customers an upgrade or a complementary product after they have already made a purchase. With just one click, customers can accept the offer and complete the transaction. This feature increases your revenue by allowing you to offer additional products or services to customers who have already shown an interest in your offerings. You can also offer a downsell in the same way if they choose not to purchase the upgraded offer. For example, if they don’t purchase your course, they may want to start off with a $20 eBook downsell instead. You can still provide value while earning some extra income.

A/B testing

A/B testing allows you to test different versions of your checkout page and optimize it for maximum conversions. ThriveCart’s A/B testing feature helps you identify which elements of your checkout page are working and which need improvement. You can test different headlines, colors, images, and layouts to find the best-performing version.

Two-step cart

The two-step cart feature allows you to collect customer information in two steps instead of one. This feature reduces the number of abandoned carts by making the checkout process less intimidating. Customers appreciate the ease of filling out their information in two simple steps, leading to higher conversions.

Modal and Embeddable carts

With modal and embeddable carts, you can add your checkout process to any page on your website. This feature provides a seamless checkout experience for your customers, increasing conversions. Customers can complete their purchase without having to navigate to another page, making the process faster and more convenient.

With a modal, a customer can click a call-to-action button and a checkout form will pop-up for them to fill out without leaving the page. An embedded cart will show up right there on the page and the customer doesn’t even have to leave the website to make the purchase.

Importantly, the payment processing doesn’t happen on your servers. You integrate your payment gateway/processor, such as Stripe or PayPal, into ThriveCart and they take care of it for you. You don’t store any customer info or credit cards on your website, which makes the customer’s purchase secure and keeps you both safe.

Video carts

Video carts allow you to add video content to your checkout page. This feature is perfect for businesses that want to showcase their products or services through video. Customers appreciate the visual aspect of video and are more likely to engage with your content, leading to higher conversions.

I also recommend adding a video to your “Thank you” or “Success” page, especially if you are offering a high-ticket service or product such as coaching or online courses. You can explain what to expect next and welcome them into your program in a way that makes them feel great about their investment.

Coupon management and direct Discount URLs

ThriveCart’s coupon management and direct discount URLs features allow you to offer discounts to your customers. You can create unique discount codes and URLs for specific products or services, making it easy to track the effectiveness of your promotions.

Customers appreciate discounts and are more likely to complete a purchase if they feel they are getting a deal. Wouldn’t you feel motivated to purchase when the link looked something like this? www.greatdeal.co/?coupon=YOURNAME-SAVE50

Customer hub

The customer can manage their own billing information, including contact and credit card information. This not only saves the company money by reducing billing issues, but it also reduces the need for customer support.

In most cases, the customer is able to take care of everything themselves without having to rely on your team for simple billing updates. This is a huge convenience and time-saver for both the customer and the company.

Integrations

Connect your autoresponders and email marketing services in order to nurture your customers along. By doing this, you can provide them with valuable information and resources that will help them succeed. Additionally, you can offer them discounts and special offers that will keep them coming back for more once you’ve built up their trust in your products.

ThriveCart seamlessly integrates with the tools you already use, so you can share data with other apps, connect to your email marketing platform, use your own invoicing, tax calculation, or fulfillment service, and much more.

One-Click Upsell Funnels

ThriveCart makes it easy to create one-click upsell funnels that are designed to convert. You can sell more and create high-converting funnels in just a few minutes by offering an upsell to a higher valued product before checkout.

A ThriveCart Pro screenshot show how to enable the sales funnel options so you can add upsells to your main product. The text "Configure your upsells and downsells (At present, you can have up to 5 upsells)" is highlighted, with an arrow pointing to the first upsell option.
The ThriveCart Pro setting to enable the sales funnel for a product allows you to configure up to 5 upsells and downsells for when someone purchases the main product.

After the customer fills out the checkout form, you can show them an optional upsell page that offers a higher priced deal. For example, if they purchase a Silver level membership you can offer them an upgrade to a Gold level membership at a slight discount right before their order is processed. They can take the offer or opt to stick with their first choice.

In this setting, you can also configure what happens when they purchase other items in the sales funnel. An example would you be sending them to a membership site login if they upgraded their purchase to include an online course.

Real-Time Metrics and Data

ThriveCart provides powerful real-time metrics and data to help keep your finger on the pulse of your online business. With live traffic and conversion rates, lifetime value, average daily revenue, and more, you can make informed decisions to grow your business. You can even download the data to perform your own analysis.

Wait! ThriveCart is NOT for You if:

With all its powerful features, there will be some businesses that ThriveCart is not the perfect solution for.

The main thing that is important to understand is, ThriveCart is not an “add to cart” store platform. In simple terms, this means that your customers cannot browse through a list of products and select individual items to add to the cart as they shop around.

If you have a large inventory of physical products with multiple variations, this is not what ThriveCart was built for and it will be difficult if not impossible to manage. A clothing store with plenty of garments in different colors and sizes would not work with the ThriveCart checkout system. You would be better off using WooCommerce in WordPress or Shopify for orders with multiple options like this. (If you only want to offer a few items, there are ways to make this work, but it would be a bit of a pain, and only be worthwhile if you already had ThriveCart as your main funnel platform.)

ThriveCart isn’t as advanced as some platforms like Kajabi or Mighty Networks. If you want to build a huge community, have a native mobile app, built-in webinars, or build a fully functioning website all in one platform… these aren’t the droids you’re looking for.

There is no endless library of templates either like you might expect to find in platforms like ClickFunnels or Kajabi. In my opinion and experience, I prefer it that way though. Having too many options can lead to decision fatigue and you can end up wasting time rather than focusing on a few good templates that are known to do their job well – convert.

But if you want tons of design layout options built-in, you may be in for a disappointment. The good news here is there is a huge community of ThriveCart builders and VAs out there that can build a funnel for you. There are even sites dedicated to selling prebuilt ThriveCart templates for products and services of every kind.

There, I said it. Still got your attention? Let’s keep going.

ThriveCart Pro Features

Powerful Affiliate Center

ThriveCart’s affiliate center is a powerful tool that allows you to create an army of affiliates to promote your products or services. With the affiliate center, you can easily set up and manage your affiliate program, customize commission rates, and provide your affiliates with marketing materials and tracking links.

This feature is a game-changer for businesses looking to scale their sales and increase revenue. You can schedule automatic payouts to your affiliates or use a manual payout system.

If an affiliate system is important to your business, this alone may justify the investment. You could pay for ThriveCart Pro with Learn+ for less than the cost of an annual affiliate plugin subscription.

Subscription Saver Functionality (Dunning)

The subscription saver functionality, also known as Dunning, is a feature that ensures your subscription customers never miss a payment. ThriveCart’s Dunning feature automates the process of notifying customers about failed payments, retrying payments, and even the canceling of subscriptions when necessary. This saves you time and helps prevent lost revenue due to failed payments.

The dunning system coupled with an email marketing system integration will help you automate email notifications to both your customer and your team. The customer won’t lose out on their investment (eg. your membership or premium services) if they forgot to top-off their credit card funds or if they got a new card and need to update their billing info before the next invoice.

Simple Sales Tax Functionality

ThriveCart’s simple sales tax functionality makes it easy to comply with sales tax regulations. This feature automatically calculates and applies sales tax to orders based on your customer’s location. You can also set up tax rules for specific products or services, making tax compliance effortless.

Of course it is always best to check with your accountant the first time around to verify the best settings for your business situation.

A ThriveCart screenshot showing the tax options setup by product category.

JV Contracts

ThriveCart’s JV contracts feature is a powerful tool for managing joint venture partnerships. With this feature, you can easily create and customize contracts with your partners, outlining commission rates, payment terms, and other important details. This feature streamlines the process of managing JV partnerships, making it easier to collaborate and grow your business.

Custom Domain Name Functionality

ThriveCart’s custom domain name functionality allows you to use your own domain name for your checkout pages. This feature gives your checkout pages a professional look and reinforces your brand identity even when your sales page isn’t embedded into your website. Custom domain names also help to improve trust and credibility with your customers, leading to increased sales and revenue.

As an example, instead of using keithdream.thrivecart.com, we can use a sub-domain like cart.keithdream.tech or sales.keithdream.com.

Other ThriveCart Pro features include:

  • Intelligent Business Projections
  • Advanced User Management
  • Client Usage Rights

5. ThriveCart vs. traditional shopping cart platforms

ThriveCart is a cart platform that differs from traditional shopping carts such as WooCommerce in several ways. One key difference is that with ThriveCart, there is no “add to cart” functionality. Instead, customers are taken directly to the checkout page (or upsell/downsell pages) after clicking the buy button. This streamlines the purchasing process and reduces the likelihood of abandoned carts.

Additionally, using traditional shopping cart platforms may require you to purchase subscriptions to other plugins and extensions to meet all your needs. This can become quite costly and require skilled developers to look after and maintain your funnel system.

ThriveCart, on the other hand, offers a wide range of features and integrations built-in, allowing you to easily manage your products, promotions, and payments all in one place.

There are several alternatives to ThriveCart, including popular platforms like these (with monthly prices at the time of publishing):

  • Shopify ($32 – $399/mo)
  • SamCart ($119 – $299/mo)
  • ClickFunnels ($147 – 297/mo).
  • WooCommerce (Free WordPress plugin with paid and free extensions available)

Shopify is a well-known eCommerce platform that offers a range of features and integrations, while WooCommerce is a popular plugin for WordPress websites that allows you to turn your site into an online store. SamCart and ClickFunnels are both similar to ThriveCart in that they are designed for creating high-converting sales funnels, and both offer a range of features and integrations for selling digital and physical products online.

The most notable differences are the one-time investment vs. high monthly or annual investment, and the flexibility that ThriveCart offers. Once you purchase the ThriveCart Lifetime deal, you own it for life. You won’t lose access to any of your products, sales funnels, or courses even if you decide you don’t need to use the platform for a while.

Ultimately, the best platform for you will depend on your specific needs and budget.

8. What is ThriveCart Learn?

ThriveCart Learn is a free course platform (Learning Management System) that is available to all ThriveCart users. A paid version called ThriveCart Learn+ is also available with advanced features for an additional one-time price of $195.

The Learn platform allows vendors to easily sell their training and content to customers through highly flexible courses containing modules and lessons with a range of super-powerful drip-feeding options.

Both versions allow for unlimited:

  • Courses
  • Modules
  • Lessons
  • Students

Course content can be delivered to students instantly or drip-fed in a variety of ways. ThriveCart Learn allows vendors to easily organize their courses into projects and offers several design types for course layout and lesson design.

It is important to note that video and file hosting is not included in ThriveCart Learn. While the course is hosted on ThriveCart servers, you can’t upload your video video content. This is one reason they are able to include Learn for free with every ThriveCart account.

But don’t worry! You can easily embed videos from hosting services like YouTube, Vimeo, and Wistia, or use services like Amazon S3, Google Drive, or Dropbox for course downloads such as PDF workbooks.

ThriveCart Learn+

ThriveCart Learn+ includes bundles, which allow vendors to sell multiple courses together. Bundles are automatically updated to include any new courses added in the future, making it easier to sell “master collections” of courses.

In the student area, users can search, filter, and manage enrolled students, including pausing, disabling, or un-enrolling. ThriveCart Learn offers a huge amount of flexibility in how content is dripped out to students, with a variety of release methods available. You can use Learn to separate courses internally via different brands, offer payment plans, and create projects for drip-fed content.

Included are several design types with a full range of customization options for course layout and lesson design. You can easily build out your modules and lessons by designing the first lesson exactly the way you want it, then duplicating it for the remaining lessons in your course.

With Learn included automatically in your ThriveCart purchase, and Learn+ available at the low price of $195 (one-time), it’s a no-brainer for any business owner or content creator that expects to add courses to supplement their product offerings and expand their income sources.

10. Conclusion
